and so it begins… Day 1.

Well, I don’t think we could’ve started off the season any better than today. With over 1.5m of snow as a base and up to 40cms’ of that light and fluffy good stuff we all know and love… Robson Heli Magic is open for business!

Our group today consisted of 4 guests, 2 who flew all the way from Paris to Edmonton AND drove to Valemount in 2 days just to come skiing with us!, and 2 from Canada who know how good it can be… Guides today included Peter Amann (IFMGA/ACMG Mountain Guide) and Cam McLellan (ACMG Assistant Ski Guide). Our ski program today was based out of the North Fork of the Swift Creek drainage (northern part of our ski tenure in the Selwyn Range of the Rocky Mountains).

Skiing up in the North Fork was definately some of the best skiing i’ve had this winter (and the rest of the group definately agrees with me… this I can assure you of!) We skied 5 thigh burning runs through beautiful open alpine slopes and down into exceptionally perfect trees. Runs skied today were Outlaw (2 laps), JAL, First Run, and Bavaria (this being the best run BY FAR as agreed on by our powder hound crew). 2800m logged, a few hundred turns in some of mother nature’s finest, and smiles you couldn’t wipe away no matter how hard you tried!!

Well… That’s it for now (actually… that’s all I can really say as #1. Skiing like that really tires me out and #2 it’s really hard to describe unless you’re getting wicked turns in along with us). Until next time… I hope you enjoy some teaser photos of Robson Heli Magic skiing…
